When you select pause in signal recording mode, with
silence detection, the the program will create one
file, the silence will be eliminated from the source
sound. Effects of this silence elimination are
different depend on the delay value you have chosen.
Short silences in some sound source are necessary like
in dialogues, some songs or lectures. You may want to keep
this kind of silence in the recorded sound to make the
result more reasonable. You can do so by selecting a
delay value when you do the configuration for signal
recording mode. The value can be from 0 to 10 seconds.
Silence more than 10 seconds is considered too long, and
it makes no sense to store a piece of silence more than 10
seconds in the result sound.
The following sample graphs illustrate the results for
different delay values:
Pause in Signal Recording
| Source sound :
There are 3 segments silence in
this piece of sound, which are 3 seconds, 8
seconds, and 1 seconds.
|
|
0 second delay:
The program will pause immediately when silence
is detected, there no any silence in the result
sound.
|
|
2 seconds delay:
If the length of a piece of silence is
less than 2 seconds, the silence will be kept in
the result sound. If a piece of silence is more
than 2 seconds, only 2 seconds silence for that
period will be in the result sound.
|
|
5 seconds delay:
If the length of a piece of silence is
less than 5 seconds, the silence will be kept in
the result sound. If a piece of silence is more
than 5 seconds, only 5 seconds silence for that
period will be in the result sound.
|
|
10 seconds delay:
For the source sound in this case( there's no
silence more than 10 seconds ) , the result sound
will be the same as the source sound.
